The use of composites prolongs the lifespan of an aircraft. An aircraft fuselage based on composite can withstand a greater pressure than one made of another material. The pressure for passengers can now be compared with that at an altitude of 3000 metres in the mountains.

The use of composite allows the air pressure to be set lower and the humidity in the passenger cabin to be increased. Plastic does not rust or erode, so extra moisture is not a problem. This makes the climate in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Airbus A350 more comfortable than in conventional types of aircraft.
Production of primary structures (Boeing)
® has an impressive track record in the international aviation industry. This material family is increasingly being used in business jets and in commercial and military aircraft. The latest Airbus A350 XWB, for example, contains 23 tons of composite. Thanks to composites, the fuselage of this aircraft and that of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner can be somewhat larger, even though these aircraft are several thousand kilos lighter.
