'Heroes in the plant'
Wednesday 20 November at the Cornelia (Georgia) plant of TenCate Geosynthetics USA, Homer Wilbank had a massive heart attack. Five colleagues gave Homer a fighting chance. Alan Thurmond, Sharon Spivey, David Eller, Greg Payne, and Bill Sams responded quickly, performed CPR and used the defibrillator machine. They did not hesitate and performed admirably in what was an extremely tough situation.
Not only did they demonstrate the genuine act of concern for their co-workers. The incident also unequivocally illustrates the importance of the training programs provided by TenCate due to its commitment to its employees and community.
The ER nurses and ambulance crew were very complimentary of the actions taken by these associates.
