Theo Rietkerk aims to strengthen four sectors in Overijssel: High-tech Systems & Materials; Chemicals & Plastics; Energy; and Health Care / Technology. Twente is one of the main drivers of the Dutch knowledge economy, and at the heart of the innovative manufacturing industry in Twente is the High-tech Systems & Materials sector. Twente is also the birthplace of TenCate and is a part of the company’s global field of activity.
'This is all about strengthening what we have, and innovating and connecting.'
Technological innovation is one of the cornerstones of the TenCate business model. As initiator and partner, the company is actively involved in partnerships and consortia in product development. Theo Rietkerk sees TenCate as ‘a good example of a company that seeks to become stronger and to innovate and build connections. TenCate is also looking for partners in the chain and this fits in with our agenda. I have had productive discussions with Loek de Vries about this new approach. We understand each other.’
