Recognition Award for Burlington
Insurer FM Global recently presented the Recognition Award to the facility of TenCate Advanced Composites in Burlington (Ontario, Canada). The company meets the highest standards for risk prevention (highly protected risk).
The safety of employees and plant has always been a core element of business ethics at Baycomp (formerly the company name), and following its acquisition by TenCate this has been reinforced by the company’s worldwide policy on damage prevention. Eight TenCate companies have already received the FM Global Highly Protected Risk Award. The Recognition Award has the same status but is granted to smaller companies in terms of size.
‘Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens.’ This briefly sums up the vision of the company in Burlington and, when it came to the safety requirements, it responded wholeheartedly. All aspects of safety and damage prevention concerning the most valuable assets of the company − employees and plant ̶ were identified, assessed on the basis of the applicable criteria and, where necessary, improved. The company satisfied the conditions and received the award.
The facility of TenCate Advanced Composites is very pleased with ‘this prestigious recognition’, but realizes that this is just the beginning not the end. It warmly subscribes to the words of the applauded actress and screen writer Lily Tomlin: ‘The road to success is always under construction.’ As purchasing manager Osaid Syed says in closing, ‘We will continue our efforts to make this plant one of the safest business entities of TenCate.’
