Summer 2015

Camping is becoming more colourful

‘Get inspired! Camping is becoming more colourful!’ That was the theme of TenCate Outdoor Fabrics at the inspiration pavilion during the ANWB Lentedagen (an exhibition for holiday, sports and leisure) held on 18 and 19 April last. In the pavilion visitors could see unique, inspiring and colourful models of tents from major tent brands that TenCate Outdoor Fabrics had manufactured together with its customers.

At the Kampeer & Caravan Jaarbeurs in the autumn of 2014 visitors to the exhibition were given the opportunity to design their own tent cloth, using the TenCate Outdoor Fabrics design app. There were a great many entries submitted, with a a variety of images, patterns and photos. The expert jury, made up of Mariette Wolbert (designer), Ruud Wenting (ANWB Media), Roel Reineman (director of KCI), Carinha Uytterhoeven (Jaarbeurs Utrecht) and TenCate Outdoor Fabrics (outdoor fabrics manufacturer), selected five winners from all the entries. The winning designs were then made into tents by the tent makers (brand manufacturers), using innovative TenCate digital printing and finishing technology.

Rob Verver presented the jury’s reasoning for selecting the winning designs.  Thanks to a special Virtual Reality Experience app in the TenCate Outdoor Fabrics pavilion, visitors were able to see the future of the digital printing of outdoor textile. The digital printing options were presented in a ‘Digital Inspirations’ collection book.
