For the third time in succession, the National Flag Guard of China in Gu Gong, better known as the Forbidden City in Beijing, has taken possession of synthetic turf pitches based on synthetic turf fibres from TenCate.
TenCate Grass Asia and its Chinese partner TorchGrass jointly provided TenCate Tapeslide™ XT synthetic turf on which the National Flag Guard, which escorts the Chinese flag on official occasions, holds its daily exercises and entertainment (picture). TenCate Tapeslide™ XT synthetic turf provides ‘a durable and safe sports experience’; it is an innovative synthetic turf fibre, specially intended for sports pitches that experience intensive use and yet have to be long lasting. The pitches are transportable.
The pitches were well received by the officers and soldiers of the National Flag Guard. They regard these as making a contribution to China’s national fitness programme and to the development of the Chinese sports cause. The event immediately attracted the attention of the media throughout China. Several major Chinese media units reported on it, including the People’s Daily online, Beijing TV Station, the Central People's Broadcasting Station and China Radio International. Many other media channels, such as websites, have copied the reports.
