Sponsorship policy

CSR and sponsorship

The TenCate CSR policy provides policy guidelines for:

  • Sponsorship
  • Donations
  • Activities

Sponsorship

The sponsorship policy of TenCate is of a restrictive nature. This means that TenCate is constantly making choices based on sponsorship guidelines and the budgets available. These guidelines will apply generally and worldwide within the multinational. The budgets involved will be available at the division(s) concerned or at the Corporate Centre. These and the value of the sponsorship involved will be confidential, and will in principle not be placed in the public domain.

The sponsorship guidelines and sponsored projects, however, will in principle be made public:

  • Sponsorship will be provided solely in kind
  • This will relate only to a solution (materials, modules or systems) of the division(s)
  • It may also be related to the partial, internal or external incorporation of this solution
  • The aim will be to bring the sponsored party in contact with this solution
  • The commercial value of the solution will be made known to the sponsored party
  • An agreement relating to the intended sponsorship relationship will be drawn up and signed
  • The agreement will include the obligation for the sponsored party to value and respect the image, reputation and the stock market listing of the company in all utterances or statements in which TenCate is mentioned
  • A promotional consideration of assessable value will form part of the sponsorship agreement
  • Publicity of assessable value in relevant media will also form part of the agreement
  • The sponsorship agreement will by definition be of limited duration; the starting date and end date will be mentioned
  • Around the end of the agreement, progress, the mutual relationship, the promotional consideration delivered and publicity will be discussed with the sponsored party
  • An evaluation of progress, the mutual relationship, the promotional consideration delivered and publicity up to that time will be made regularly each financial year, but at the latest in the month of September, before the application for an extension of the budget

Donations

The donation policy of TenCate is restrictive by nature. This means that TenCate is constantly making choices based on donation guidelines and the budgets available. These guidelines will apply generally and worldwide within the multinational. The budgets involved will be available at the division(s) concerned or at the Corporate Centre. These budgets, the amount of the donation involved as well as the party/parties concerned are confidential, and will in principle not be placed in the public domain.

The donation guidelines, however, will in principle be made public:

  • Donations will be made only to a maximum amount of 1,500 euros / US-dollars
  • This will relate to social activities that have a direct or indirect connection with TenCate
  • The aim will be to enable the party concerned to carry out fully or partially his/her intended activity
  • No agreement will be drawn up relating to the intended donation relationship
  • The party involved will not be obliged to mention TenCate in utterances or statements – and will be discouraged from doing so
  • There will be no promotional consideration of assessable value
  • There will be no publicity of assessable value in relevant media
  • The donation will in principle be made once only

Activities

On the basis of their position in the company and in addition to their private activities, TenCate employees may be directly or indirectly involved in numerous social activities. These will in principle take place in the local or regional surroundings of the division or Corporate Centre involved. The management of the division or the Corporate Centre may offer assistance or support in these activities.

Simple resources may be offered to this end – through the relevant Human Resources department, such as:

  • Making business premises or other accommodation, resources or means of transport available free of charge
  • Promotional resources – such as sports clothing – from the TenCate Webshop collection. The costs of these will be passed on to the relevant division
  • Et cetera
