TenCate Geotube® dewatering system is the preferred solution:

Dewatering is achieved by using a high strength woven fabric with very unique filtration and retention properties. Invented in the Netherlands in the late nineties and applied in thousands of projects ever since, TenCate Geotube® dewatering technology adds to the expediency of a project because it can take place on site and without interruption to industrial or another processes.
During containment of fine grain sludge, hazardous contaminated material, or waste water sludges, TenCate Geotube® dewatering technology allows high volumes of effluent water through small pores in the high strength tube. The result is effective dewatering and efficient volume reduction of the contained material. The run-off water can be reused or returned to native waterways. Once the repeated process of containment and dewatering has finished its final cycle, the retained sediments in the TenCate Geotube® system continue to consolidate by desiccation, which allows residual water vapor to escape through the small pores of the fabric. The captured solids in the TenCate Geotube® container can now be disposed of properly.
