TenCate Advanced Armour announces the opening of a permanent sales office in the Middle East. Mr Yohann Barnaud, who has been managing TenCate Advanced Armour sales in the Gulf Cooperation Council region and Eastern Europe, has been appointed director.

TenCate Advanced Composites has been successful in qualifying to supply carbon fibre-reinforced thermoplastic composite material for a leading global automotive customer. Now that the customer-specific development phase for a structural automotive application has been completed, marking the end of the qualification process, structural integrity tests of the final product begin.

The business unit Water & Environment of TenCate Geosynthetics has been awarded in November 2012 the Outstanding Achievement Award for the transformation of a polluted wastewater impoundment into the Qingjing Lake at Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City in China. The once deserted and polluted place will host by the year 2020 all kind of green businesses and around 350,000 residents in their new Eco-City.  The ecology and biodiversity have been considerably improved by transforming the wastewater impoundment into a clean wetland lake. The new city will serve as a role model for future habitat developments in China. The TenCate Geotube® dewatering technology was a key contributor to this transformation process, using 18,7 kilometer of these geotextile containers.

TenCate Geosynthetics has won an IAA award each of the past 8 years and this is the fourth award for Water & Environment business unit.

TenCate Protective Fabrics in partnership with Lion Apparel has secured a major TenCate Tecashield® order for the delivery of inherently heat- and flame-retardant materials for the turn-out gear of the Amsterdam-Amstelland fire brigade in the Netherlands. The TenCate material used will be mainly for the lightweight outer shell, the protective thermal liner and reinforcement inserts.
