    Highlights 2009

    • Revenues: € 842 million (2008: € 1,033 million; -18% autonomous).
    • EBITA: € 41.5 million (2008: € 95.4 million).
    • EBITA margin: 4.9% (2008: 9.2%).
    • Net profit: € 23.9 million (2008: € 51.1 million).
    • Stringent cash management effective: net debt reduced by € 136 million to € 195 million.
    • Operational cash flow € 145 million (+200%).
    • Exceptional expenditure in EBITA: € 11 million (2008: income € 5 million), € 6.4 million of which for reorganization costs (approximately € 5 million in 4th quarter).
    • Stock depletion and a restrained policy on credit within synthetic turf activities lead to extra under-utilized capacity.
    • Steep decrease in costs as a result of reduction in personnel.
    • Dividend proposal: € 0.60 per share in cash or as stock dividend, entirely at shareholder’s discretion (2008: € 0.85 [50% stock dividend / 50% stock dividend option]).

    TenCate (Xennia) is introducing nano process technology for textile applications

    Xennia Technology, a subsidiary of Royal Ten Cate, presents today its process demonstrator for printing and finishing of textile materials. This new nano process technology is based on inkjet technology, whereby ink or coating particles are applied with great production precision and speed. With this technology a breakthrough has been accomplished in the field of industrial processes, which were until recently applicable in the textile industry.

    TenCate strengthens position in the UK armour market

    Royal Ten Cate has agreed to acquire the armour company AML UK Ltd. based in Swindon, United Kingdom. This acquisition will provide TenCate with full access to the UK market for lightweight composite armour solutions. AML has annual sales of approximately £ 10 million. The share purchase agreement is expected to be concluded this month.
