    • EBITA margin 4.8% (first half of 2008: 8.9%)
    • Net profit €15.2 million (2008: €25.4 million)
    • Net earnings per share €0.61 (H1 2008: €1.08)
    • Net profit positively impacted by €5.2 million (net) from book profit on sale of Geofabrics Australasia pty ltd and write-down of a minority interest
    • Debt/EBITDA ratio comfortably within bank covenant (3); ratio at end- June: 2.5
    • Free cash flow rose by €71.3 million in first six months to €35.0 million

    Appointment member executive board Royal Ten Cate

    The supervisory board of Royal Ten Cate intends to nominate Drs J. Lock during the next general meeting of shareholders for appointment as member of the executive board of Royal Ten Cate. In anticipation of this, Mr Lock will immediately assume the position of chief financial officer (CFO). 

    Mr Lock (63) worked for Royal Ten Cate from 1988 to 2008, his last position being corporate director finance and administration.

    Triple-T System HC Bloemendaal

    Starting next season the European and national champion Hockey Club Bloemendaal will play its home matches on a Triple-T System hockey pitch. After MHC Ede, HC Bloemendaal is the second hockey club in the Netherlands to have a pitch based on the Triple-T System. This system is entirely focused on optimum player comfort, high ball speed and low friction in both wet and dry conditions. These characteristics, which support the high-grade technical game, were the main reasons for HC Bloemendaal to opt for this system. TenCate supplied the artificial grass fibers.

    TAPAS research program receives € 6.6 million grant from Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs

    The recently formally launched TAPAS research program, where Airbus together with TenCate, Stork Fokker AESP, Airborne Composites, KVE Composites Group, Dutch Thermoplastic Components, Technobis and University of Twente and Technical University of Delft cooperate in developing a new generation of thermoplastic composites for a.o. body parts, has received a grant from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs for the amount of € 6.6 million. This grant covers half of the total research budget (€ 13.2 million).
