    TenCate starts joint venture for protective fabrics in Thailand

    Ten Cate Advanced Textiles and Union Textile Industries Public Company Limited of Thailand (Union Textile) have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture with the name of “Ten Cate – Union Protective Fabrics Asia Ltd” for the production of work wear and safety wear fabrics in Thailand, an emerging market.
    The company will have a share capital of 385 million Baht (approximately €7.5 million), of which TenCate will hold the majority.

    Xennia successfully develops new applications for industrial inkjet market

    In January 2008 TenCate acquired 75% of the shares of Xennia Technology Ltd. near Cambridge (UK). The main reason for this acquisition is primarily to accelerate the opportunity to use inkjet technology to produce technical textiles. Inkjet technology has the potential to replace existing finishing and coating technologies and create new materials for the technical textiles sector.

    TenCate opens new factory in China for the growing geosynthetic market

    Today marks the opening by Royal Ten Cate (Koninklijke Ten Cate nv) of its new factory for geosynthetic materials near the city of Zhuhai (pop. 1.5 m) in Guangdong province, China. TenCate Geosynthetics will use this plant to produce textiles for the strongly growing Asian market. The initial workforce will number some 150.
