TenCate Miramesh® SG preserves slopes

TenCate Geosynthetics has a US patent for TenCate Miramesh® SG. The descriptor SG stands for synthetic grass. This is a wide-meshed geotextile in which synthetic turf fibres are integrated. It was specially developed to reinforce constructed slopes, to counter erosion and immediately produce a permanent, green appearance.
TenCate Miramesh® SG is a cost-efficient solution. The application of this system enables savings to be made on water and materials like seeds and fertilizers.

The synthetic turf fibres afford extra UV protection, which ensures additional protection against erosion and preservation of the slope. The use of this system is particularly helpful for slopes where little will grow, due to their aspect.

The granting of this patent prevents other suppliers marketing this or a similar system or using it in projects. Moreover, it underlines how committed TenCate Geosynthetics is to developing distinctive and patentable materials for major applications using geosynthetics.

TenCate Miramesh® SG obviates the need for supporting vegetation on vertical slopes and under difficult climatic conditions.‘Green’ geotextiles are compatible with new environmental legislation and regulations in the US relating to construction and infrastructure projects. There is an increasing demand for sustainable roads and construction work, in which less waste is produced and fewer natural resources and less energy are required.
