GreenFields in Boston and Colorado Springs
A recently installed synthetic turf pitch from GreenFields USA now graces Nickerson Field, home to the Boston University Terrier men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse teams. A navy blue synthetic turf pitch from GreenFields was installed at The Vanguard School in Colorado Springs.
At the start of the 2014-2015 season GreenFields synthetic turf sports systems also became available in the United States and Canada. The company has a growing network of experienced representatives and certified quality installers.
Nickerson Field (picture) can now boast a GreenFields® MX Trimension™ system utilizing a patented weaving technology. The woven turf ensures a natural appearance, both from the stands and on TV. The woven turf allows a player to pivot more easily and to have better and natural control of the ball. For this installation in Boston, GreenFields partnered with Northeast Turf, one of the most experienced installers in the US, with more than 700 fields installed, including the Gillette Stadium in the city. In 2001 Boston University was one of the first educational institutions to convert to synthetic turf. Nickerson Field was also the first to have a FIFA-certified pitch.
A navy blue pitch for the Vanguard School
The Vanguard School in Colorado Springs, which is ranked the 16th Top Academic High School in America by Newsweek, chose a navy blue GreenFields® SlideMax XP system. With the color of the field and its location off Interstate 25, it has been receiving a lot of attention for the school. Other local soccer clubs too, such as Rush Soccer Club, Colorado Springs Soccer Club and the semi-professional Rocky Mountain Saber Cats, have already used this facility. The field in Colorado Springs was installed by Academy Sports Turf. ‘It’s quite an honor to have such a prestigious stadium choose GreenFields’, Jim Froslid (director sales and marketing GreenFields USA) told us enthusiastically. ‘As a leader in innovation we want to enable athletes all over the world to play on well constructed, sustainable and safe fields.’
