The Netherlands ambassador to the U.S. visits today the State Georgia on a three days trip aimed at further advancing strong ties between Georgia and the Netherlands. Ambassador Renee Jones-Bos will meet with top government officials and will also meet key executives from the corporate and nonprofit sectors. She will have the chance to tour facilities of TenCate Protective Fabrics North America and VanderLande Industries.
Though the Netherlands keep a relatively low profile in this State, the country is the seventh largest source of foreign direct investment in the state. According to Dutch governmental figures, Dutch investments support approximately 18,100 jobs in Georgia, with an additional 6,971 jobs supported by Georgia exports to the Netherlands. In 2007, Dutch investments in Georgia totaled $1.5 billion. TenCate in the USA has approximately 1,500 employees.
