When the road A6 in Latvia, east of Ogre, was relayed with new asphalt the road authority decided to use an asphalt reinforcement layer. This was installed in order to reduce the upcoming of longitudinal cracks in the asphalt. The pre-deisgn was made by TenCate after consulting the data, e.g. axle load, traffic intensity, sub-base strength, the thickness of the structure and existing rut depth, given by the contractor. The stretch is 200 m long.
