With camping tents we mean many different types of tents. For example: tunnel tents, pyramid tents, inflatable tents, bungalow tents and tour operator tents. All of these tents have their own specific requirements to the fabric.
A "pyramid tent" is usually made from 100% cotton canvas because of the breathing capabilities.
Tunnel tents are made from either 100% cotton TenCate Cotton™, but also from the synthetic qualities TenCate All Season Touring™ and TenCate All Season Residential™.
An inflatable tent puts high demands on the strength of the fabric type used. Therefore, typically the flagship of the cotton collection is used: the KD 48.
A touroperator tent has very heavy requirements. These tents are use outdoors for a whole season long (from April to October) in weather, wind and sunshine. Therefore the fabric has to be extremely weather resistant. Ten Cate has developed the TenCate All Season Residential™ with a specially developed tour operator finish. Operators like Eurocamp, Rent-a-Tent, Canvas Holidays and Vacance Select use this fabric for their big tents, but also for safari and lodge tents.
