Flexible capacity increase

Many communities still use conventional drying beds at waste water treatment stations. Although this technique drains sludge in a satisfactory way, it has its confines. Indeed the quantity of sludge that can be treated is limited and therefore it is necessary to clean out the beds and to dispose of the dried sludge on an overly frequent basis.

In order to increase the capacity significantly without having to enlarge the ground coverage TenCate Geotube® dewatering systems are therefore becoming more and more popular. On the same surface this technique allows you to multiply the volumes of treated sludge by four to six. In certain cases, after slight adaptations to the construction of the beds it is possible even to treat ten times as much sludge.

No capital investment

The tremendous increase in containment volume (6 to 8 times the original capacity) offered by TenCate Geotube® containers, will not only lead to longer intervals in between two fillings and hauling operations, to run the station actually becomes much simpler and economical. On top of that, since the sludge is no longer drying in open air but contained in TenCate Geotube® systems, the odour pollution is a thing of the past as will be the appearance of flies and worms that will proliferate frequently in a traditional drying bed set-up.
