Dewatering technology (EN)

Marine dewatering

Over the years, rivers, lakes, canals, harbours, marinas and other waterways have been filling up with sediments.
Routine dredging is required to remove these sediments. Contaminated sediments then have to be disposed of properly in landfills. Transportation and disposal costs are high due to the amount of water generated in the dredging operation.

High capacity dewatering
Now, by using TenCate Geotube® technology, high capacity dewatering can be accomplished in an economical way at or near the site utilizing a dewatering basin. The sediments are removed first through hydraulic dredging and then pumped directly into the TenCate Geotube® structure. The quality of the TenCate Geotube® fabric and TenCate know-how allow to safely stacking tubes on top of one another to minimize space needed.

Less transport movements
TenCate Geotube® technology reduces the amount of transport movements for disposal and makes logistics easier. The special properties of our TenCate Geotube® structure even allow the dredged sediment to be utilized at site for bank reinforcement or landscaping purposes.

Heavy metals, PCB, TBT and hydrocarbon remediation
In other cases where heavy metals, PCB, TBT or hydrocarbon contaminated sediments are the problem, TenCate Geotube® industrial fabrics provide an excellent remediation solution. From our complete product line for the Dewatering market, we can offer materials that not only contain and dewater marine sediment but capture their contaminates at the same time.

The extensive experience TenCate gathered during the important projects realized with TenCate Geotube® dewatering technology made us preferred supplier for dredging companies all over the globe.Find out more now! Contact us.
