TenCate Advanced Armour in Denmark has been selected by BAE Systems Hägglunds as supplier of protection for the ongoing upgrade and new-build program of CV90 vehicles to the Norwegian Army. The contract further builds on the competences of the Danish TenCate site as House of Excellence for vehicle survivability. No financial details will be provided.

The advanced protection solution will be manufactured at TenCate site in Vissenbjerg, Denmark, and is the result of an ongoing dialog and cooperation between BAE Hägglunds and TenCate. The aim has been optimizing armour design and perfecting the vehicle protection system, thus ensuring the best possible protection for the Norwegian troops.

Tomas Karlson, Procurement and Industrial Cooperation Director, BAE Systems Hägglunds states: “The local industrial cooperation in Denmark is important to us at BAE Systems Hägglunds in support of existing CV90 vehicles and future opportunities like the APC program. Industrial cooperation is one of the major factors for international success, both for BAE Systems Hägglunds and the local industries being part of our Global supply chain. We are pleased with the effort of TenCate to deliver with quality, timely and cost-efficient for the ongoing Norway CV90 programme”.

Helle Specht, Managing Director of TenCate Advanced Armour Danmark A/S states: “We are delighted to sign this deal with BAE Systems Hägglunds and to further build on the successful partnership. The project underlines our position in the market as strategic supplier to vehicle OEMs such as BAE Systems in upcoming programs such as the Danish M113 replacement program in which a derivative of the CV90 is offered”.

The contract of BAE Systems Hägglunds with the Norwegian Army involves upgrading the Army’s existing 103-vehicle CV9030 fleet and building 41 new vehicles, giving the Army 144 state-of-the art CV90s in varying configurations with enhanced capabilities – protection, survivability, situational awareness, intelligence and interoperability – for future battlefield and conflict scenarios.
