TenCate Advanced Composites is a long-standing leader in the thermoset prepreg industry. Our thermoset prepreg systems are based on epoxy, cyanate ester, BMI or polyimide resin systems. These prepregs are widely used in tooling, aerostructures and space/satellite structures. Also, they are used in highly specialized applications such as radomes and jet engine high-temperature components. TenCate is also a leader in out of autoclave/vacuum bag only processable thermoset prepregs. You will find our out of autoclave/vacuum bag only prepregs on industry- leading programs in general aviation, launch vehicles, and UAVs. We also offer a complete line of thermoset prepregs specifically created for industrial applications, like F1 advanced composites, automotive composites, composites for the energy sector, the medical industry, and in recreational applications.

Aerospace Thermosets

In aerospace applications, TenCate Advanced Composites offers a diverse suite of thermoset prepregs serving the aerostructures, space/satellite, radome, jet engine, interiors and launch vehicle markets. TenCate’s cyanate ester based prepregs are valued in satellite and radome structures because of their low outgassing, moisture resistance, and ideal electrical properties. TenCate is an industry leader in prepregs that are out of autoclave (OOA) / vacuum bag only (VBO) processible.  Processing without an autoclave is often more cost effective and increases the productivity of large part fabrication.  It is also desirable when structures are too large for an autoclave.  TenCate's line of high-temperature prepregs are widely used in heat shields, ablatives, jet engines, and missiles. These materials are based on cyanate ester, BMI, and polyimide ester matrices. TenCate also has the TenCate AmberTool line of low-temperature cure tooling prepregs. These materials are capable of curing at low temperatures but can withstand multiple cycles at high temperatures after a free standing post cure.

Industrial Thermosets

TenCate’s line of industrial thermoset prepregs were developed to address the diverse needs of industries such as energy, vehicles, racing, medical and marine. These industrial composite applications value short cycle times and low cost. TenCate materials deliver impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and excellent durability and toughness.  TenCate’s industrial thermoset prepregs offer value while meeting the demanding requirements of our customers.  In addition to our thermoset prepregs offerings, we also provide tooling prepregs materials that cure at low temperatures while providing long out times and high Tg's after post cure.  To learn more about TenCate’s AmberTool line of tooling prepregs, visit the Tooling section for Process Guides, data sheets, tech papers and product brochures.
