Edel Grass and design partners install sustainable FIFA** synthetic grass pitch at ASC Nieuwland
Edel Grass and its design partners have installed a sustainable synthetic grass pitch at ASC Nieuwland in Amersfoort. The 'Edel Green Future System' is made of components that can be recycled for use in new synthetic grass systems at the end of their lifespan. This makes it the first fully recyclable FIFA** synthetic grass pitch.

TenCate sponsors China Open 2011 at the National Tennis Center in Beijing
TenCate is sponsoring the 2011 China Open held from 1 to 9 October at the National Tennis Center in Beijing, China. The China Open is the one of the biggest international tennis tournaments in Asia during which the world’s best tennis players will compete against each other. TenCate Grass has built up a leading position in the Asian synthetic turf market in recent years and recognizes the rapidly increasing popularity of tennis in China, that was further accelerated by the recent victory of Li Na at the French Open.
Buffalo Bills to play new season on one of the most advanced turf fields in the USA featuring TenCate technology
On Saturday August 27th the Buffalo Bills of the NFL will play their first home game on one of the most technically advanced turf fields in the USA. As a leading sports turf supplier, A-Turf, Inc. (Buffalo, New York), has installed the A-Turf® Titan system at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. A-Turf chose TenCate Monoslide Ultra™ with TenCate XQ™ technology and TenCate XP Blade™ when developing their first NFL field to ensure that the hometown team had the highest performance without sacrificing durability for the many seasons ahead.
TenCate and Pentair X-Flow launch drinking water management with synthetic turf systems
On the occasion of the opening of the Open Innovation Center for Advanced Materials (OICAM) in Nijverdal, the Netherlands, TenCate and Pentair X-Flow are set to launch the first demonstrator project developed in open innovation, which is known as GreenSource. In this project, a synthetic turf system from TenCate has been combined with water filtration technology from Pentair X-Flow. This combination will make it possible to use drinking water and other water management worldwide for both sports complexes and landscaping with synthetic turf, particularly in areas where water shortages prevail or where only polluted water is available.
TenCate takes strategic share in sports construction company Hellas
TenCate has entered into an agreement to purchase a minority share in Hellas Construction Inc. (Austin, Texas, USA). The transaction was finalized yesterday. Hellas' main activity is the construction and installation of synthetic turf fields and running tracks in North America and is a valuable contribution to the TenCate strategic concept of value chain management in the synthetic turf market.
First synthetic turf field with TenCate Monoslide Ultra™ with XQ™ technology turf fiber being installed in San Diego, California.
At the end of May 2011, the Christian Unified School District of San Diego (California) will take delivery of their new synthetic turf field, featuring TenCate Monoslide Ultra™ with XQ™ technology turf blades. This new turf fiber of TenCate Grass is more durable than other synthetic sports fibers and enables a sports surface that looks and plays like a natural grass field in top condition.
TenCate expands global texturizing capacity
TenCate Grass has significantly expanded its texturizing capacity in the United States and in Europe. The start-up of the state-of-the-art equipment will enable TenCate Grass to meet the high demand for texturized yarns for sports and landscaping turf.

TenCate denies claim of FieldTurf Tarkett
In January 2011, TenCate notified FieldTurf Tarkett (“FieldTurf”) that it would terminate an exclusive supply agreement with FieldTurf. Soon thereafter, FieldTurf filed a lawsuit against TenCate in the District Court for the Northern District of Georgia (USA). The suit alleges defects in products that for the most part were supplied to FieldTurf by a company, Mattex Leisure Industries (Dubai), during several years before TenCate acquired certain assets of the Mattex business in early 2007.
TenCate Grass expands production capacity of TenCate XP Blade™ for sustainable synthetic turf
TenCate Grass has substantially expanded the production capacity of its most sustainable synthetic turf product, TenCate XP Blade™. The start-up of an additional production line in Dayton (Tennessee, US) will enable TenCate Grass to meet the sharp increase in global demand for these wear-resistant synthetic turf fibres.
