Planet
TenCate attempts to spare the environment as much as possible. For this reason we only use those chemicals that are included in the Textile Environmental Database. TenCate is also investing in the sustainability of its processes. TenCate materials often contribute to solving environmental problems. One of the many examples of this is the TenCate Geotube®, which can be used for dewatering contaminated sludge. TenCate Thiolon® artificial grass also makes a contribution to the reduction in the use of water in sprinkler installations at sports clubs and in parks and gardens.
- In 2006 TenCate brought its continuous open-width bleaching machine on stream. This machine reduces our energy consumption, the use of chemicals and the amount of waste produced.
- TenCate has invested in the Digitex project for digital finishing. This process makes a really major contribution to the sustainability of the textile industry.
- TenCate has installed a system at its factories in Nijverdal that enables water to be reused. Heated cooling water from one of the factories is being used by a neighbouring TenCate production location. This produces cost savings in the draining off of warm water on the one hand and in energy costs for heating water on the other.
- TenCate Grass in Nijverdal has introduced a packaging system that limits the amount of packaging material that is needed
Planet stands for the environment, the everyday surroundings of people and animals and the way we treat them. This includes a reduction in waste products and energy consumption within the company and the production of materials that our customers can use for this purpose.
