About us
TenCate Geotube® Technology
TenCate Geotube® Technology is known throughout the world as the proven leader in quality, performance, durability, and value in two market areas: (1) dewatering, and (2) marine structures / shoreline protection. With over 25 years of high-strength, permeable, specially engineered textile fabrication experience, the TenCate Geotube® brand brings to the market the largest staff of trained technicians and sales personnel to assist in dewatering technology and marine structure needs, even in the most challenging environments. With offices located in Commerce, Georgia, our team can provide services in design assistance, custom fabrication, installation assistance, and project specific testing.
For TenCate Industrial Fabrics, the TenCate Geotube® brand offers dewatering product solutions for marine remediation, mining and mineral processing, power and utility, pulp and paper, municipal, light industrial, agriculture, and aquaculture applications.
Our work within marine structures and shoreline protection applications include sand dune cores, wetlands creation and wildlife habitats, breakwaters, jetties and groynes, underwater structures, diversion dikes, and island creation.
By providing effective high volume containment, TenCate Geotube® dewatering technology and solutions are a cost effective and efficient alternative to traditional methods. Our technology and solutions are also environmentally safe, with minimum impact on the environment while providing a beneficial use for dredge material.
Dewatering works by using high-strength, permeable, specially engineered textile with very unique filtration and retention properties. Developed in conjunction with the US Army Corp of Engineers, TenCate Geotube® dewatering technology adds to the expediency of a project because it can take place on site and without interruption to industrial or another processes.
During containment of fine grain sludge, hazardous contaminated soils, or dredged waste material, TenCate Geotube® dewatering technology allows excess water to drain through small pores in the specially engineered textile tube. The result is effective dewatering and efficient volume reduction of the contained material. The run-off water from the dewatering process can be reused or returned to native waterways. This process of containment and dewatering can happen repeatedly. After the final containment and dewatering cycle, the retained fine grained materials in the TenCate Geotube® units continue to consolidate by desiccation, which allows residual water vapor to escape through the small pores of the geotextile. The captured solids in the TenCate Geotube® container can now be disposed of properly.
TenCate Geotube® dewatering technology is another example of TenCate Industrial Fabrics’ global commitment to manufacture the highest quality products for our world.
