TenCate Protective Fabrics launches new TenCate Defender™ M products

Today TenCate Protective Fabrics will launch the new fabrics in its TenCate Defender™ M collection at the opening of Milipol 2009 in Paris. Thanks to a new combination of fibres and an innovative dyeing method, the colours navy blue and black are now also available. This material can be used in the protective clothing of special police units, such as the riot police and arrest squads. In addition to their inherently heat- and flame-resistant characteristics, the fabrics from the TenCate Defender™ M collection provide a great deal of comfort. The material has meantime amply proved itself within the US military.

At the A+A 2009 trade fair in Düsseldorf (Germany) TenCate Protective Fabrics is introducing new durable fabrics and unique multi-layer systems for fire fighting apparel and electric arc protection. These new fabrics and systems are based on an optimal combination of textile technology and chemical processes, including unique fibre blends and durable finishes.

Heat and flame retardant TenCate fabric into space aboard Soyuz rocket
27 May 2009

On Wednesday, May 27 a Soyuz rocket is launched from the Russian city of Bajkonoer with on board a new transport bag for ESA, made of heat and flame retardant fabric of TenCate Protective Fabrics. The bag is designed by the College of Technology Ghent in Belgium. ESA and NASA are so enthusiastic that they have ordered extra transport bags.
